Blount County Schools educators line up inside the Teacher Depot and browse shelves filled with binders, folders, and classroom supplies.

Supporting teachers. Investing in students.

Before the first bell ever rings, teachers are already investing in their students. Too often, that investment includes purchasing classroom supplies with their own money.

This morning, Blount County Schools and our community partners took another step toward changing that.

A crowded room of Blount County Schools educators browse classroom supplies and carry Teacher Depot bags during opening morning.

Nearly 100 Blount County Schools educators visited the new BCS Teacher Depot on opening morning, selecting classroom essentials completely free of charge. From notebooks and binders to everyday supplies, teachers filled their bags with resources headed directly to classrooms across our district.

The strong turnout confirmed what we already believed: this resource matters.

The Teacher Depot is more than a room full of supplies. It is what happens when our schools, community, and partners identify a real need and work together to meet it.

Supporting teachers is one of the most direct ways we can support students.

This is Excellent Culture in action.

We are incredibly grateful to the Blount County Education Foundation, Blount County Principals Association, American Paper & Twine, Newell, BOE Member Amber Young, Tuckaleechee Baptist Church, and our community partners who helped make this possible.
