What is a Ready Graduate?

The Ready Graduate Indicator was created through the Tennessee’s Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan which began in the Fall of 2016. This indicator measures the number of students who earn a high school diploma and meet certain academic milestones that increase the probability of a successful transition to college and career opportunities.

 

What is required to be a Ready Graduate?

 A student may attain Ready Graduate status by achieving any of the following:

Earn a composite score of 21 or higher on the ACT (or 1060 or higher on the SAT);

OR

Complete four Early Postsecondary Opportunities (EPSOs);

OR

Complete two EPSOs + earn an industry credential;

OR

Complete two EPSOs + earn a score of 31 on military readiness on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).

What EPSO Courses and Assessments do Blount County Schools offer?

General Education: Advanced Placement, State-Wide Dual Credit, Local Dual Credit

Career/Technical Education: Dual Credit, Industry Credentials

Tests: ACT, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
