ESL (English second language) recently held
their annual graduation ceremony. Thirty -six students became eligible
to graduate from receiving direct instructional services from the
district's ESL program.
Students become eligible to graduate by passing the spring 2014 exit assessment which is a state requirement to exit the ESL program. The exit assessment covers reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension. Of the 36 students who graduated, 25 students actually participated in gnu graduation ceremony. Each graduate wrote a brief speech on "What ESL Meant to Them" and read their speech during graduation. This year's graduation class was the largest since the development of the BCS ESL program in 2010. |
