Dec. 16 there will be a faculty student ball game during school hours. We are asking for a $1 donation to attend the game. Popcorn will be sold for 50 cents. Capri Sun pouches will also be sold for 50 cents. The mone;y raised will be used to support technology improvements in our school.
As most everyone is aware, many of Montvale’s instructional materials, technology related equipment, library books and supplies, and materials needed for the day-to-day operations of an elementary school are funded by fundraisers. This year we hope to put a major emphasis on funding Smart Boards and other technology. Below is a list of ways you can help support Montvale with this major endeavor. Please help us by participating in these fundraising activities.
This fundraiser runs Sunday, August 25, 2013 through Saturday, May 3, 2014. In order to support Montvale you must link your Food City ValuCard with the school code which is 40597. This can be done any one of three ways:
1. Scan the bar code provided to you a few weeks ago.
2. Ask the person at the register to look up Montvale and he/she will link the number to your account.
3. Sign up online through your personal account: myfoodcity.com/account.
Montvale will receive credit for each participating brand you purchase.
Kroger Community Rewards Program
If you don’t already have a Kroger Plus Card, please apply for one at the service desk of any Kroger store. If you already have a Plus Card, sign up online at www.krogercommunityrewards.com.
1. Have your Plus Card handy when signing in.
2. Click on Sign In/Register
3. Follow directions on the prompt. If you are a new customer, you will first have to create an account. Follow those directions.
4. Update or confirm your information.
5. Enter NPO number, 29023, or select Montvale from organization list.
6. To verify that you are enrolled correctly, you will see Montvale on the right side of your information page.
If you use your phone number at the register, Call 800-576-4377, select option 4 to get your Kroger Plus card number.
You must swipe your Plus Card every time you check out in order for Montvale to receive credit for your purchases.

Our PTO is selling Coupon Books again this year. They are a good value at $10 with many area businesses offering great discounts. There is a limited supply and can’t be replenished when we run out so hurry and get yours today!
Cookie Dough/Gift Sale
This is Montvale’s biggest fundraiser. All the money raised will go to purchasing much needed teaching supplies, technology, and expenses incurred with the Montvale’s daily operations.
The kickoff is September 12, 2013 and ends September 26th. The top seller wins $100 cash, top room seller wins a pizza party, and there are many prizes offered for all children who participate.
We fund many of our library’s books with money earned from General Mills box tops. Please continue to cut out the box tops from participating cereals and other foods and turn them into your homeroom teacher.
Campbell’s Soup Labels
Campbell’s Soup Labels are used to purchase items for the Accelerated Reader point store. Each time your child reads a certain amount of books and passes an Accelerated Reader’s test, he/she earns points. When he/she accumulates points, the points can be used to purchase items in the point’s store.
Tyson gives us money for these labels which are used to purchase library books and library supplies. Please continue to clip Tyson A+ labels.
Empty glue bottles, glue sticks, pens, markers, mechanical pencils, tape dispensers and tape cores can be turned into the art teacher to earn money for much needed art supplies.
Also, any empty ink cartridges and laser cartridges can be turned into the office for money to be used for technology.
Thank you for helping Montvale to better educate your children!
Many people have asked how to help the library since seeing the article in Sunday’s paper. I have set up a wish list on Amazon use this link or just search for Montvale Library in wish lists. You may order a book for our library through Amazon. If you want to give a book in honor of someone special or to celebrate a special occasion I will be happy to put a book plate in the front of the book and let your child be the first to check it out.
We are also happy to take donations. There will be a bookfair starting Sept. 6. Funds from that support our library. Boxtops for Education (cut from General Mills products, including many non-food items like ziplock bags, Kleenex tissues and Hanes products.) give us money. The Labels for Education from Campbells products let us order items from their catalog.
