Jake Jones

Assistant Director, Curriculum and Instruction


Jake Jones has been the Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction since 2020. He is responsible for the supervision and implementation of curriculum and instructional strategies for Pre-K thru 12th grade. Mr. Jones also coordinates the district’s efforts in the areas of federal projects, assessment, data, special education and technology.


Mr. Jones has worked throughout the Blount County School district during his 24 years of service:


  • Assistant Director, Curriculum & Instruction, BCS Central Office 2020-present
  • Principal, Heritage High School 2015-2020
  • Principal, Prospect Elementary School 2011-2015
  • Assistant Principal, Porter Elementary School 2006-2011
  • Middle School Teacher & Coach, Heritage Middle School 2000-2006
  • Elementary Teacher, Porter Elementary School 1998-2000

 

Mr. Jones holds a Specialist in Education degree from Lincoln Memorial, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in education from The University of Tennessee.

 

He leads several special projects for BCS, including: district-wide professional development, technology initiatives, curriculum alignment, and teacher leader development.
