The Heritage Middle School boys’ golf team competed in the East Tennessee Middle School Golf Association (ETMSGA) state golf tournament on Monday, May 9, 2011. The tournament was held at Springbrook Country Club in Niota, TN. They defeated Norris Middle School, North Middle School, and Maryville Middle School to earn the title of State Champions! |
Both the Heritage Middle School boys’ and girls’ teams won their district tournaments to advance to the regional tournament where the girls finished third and the boys came in second. The boys’ team advanced to the state tournament and two Heritage Middle School girls advanced to the state tournament to complete as individuals. They were Trista Holder and Cydney Murrell.
The boy’s team included Hunter Bailey, Brandon Nichols, Spencer Rothery, Taylor Simerly, and Aaron Wilson. The girl’s team included Trista Holder, Cydney Murrell, and Erin Robinson. Taylor Simerly, Hunter Bailey, and Brandon Nichols were named to the All-State boy’s team. Trista Holder was named to the All-State girl’s team.
The Heritage Middle School Golf teams would like to thank their home course, Lambert Acres Golf Course, for all their support, generosity, and cooperation for the past several years. The team would also like to thank the Heritage Middle School administration, Dr. Steve Moser, Principal, and Mrs. Amber Williams, Assistant Principal, as well as the faculty and staff for all their support and cooperation.
