What inspired you to want to work for the service of children?

Teenagers make me laugh. They keep me young and I enjoy their spirit.

What is your favorite part of working at HHS?

It's still all very new to me. (It's my first year here) The faculty has been very helpful and the students are responding to my different teaching style.

In high school what kind of stereotype did you fall into?

I was a mixture of all of those stereotypes - a true social butterfly.

When you were in high school what career did you want to go into? Was education your first intended major?

I wanted to be a lawyer. I eventually graduated from college with a degree in journalism and history. I was editor of a county newspaper. Then, I decided to try teaching.

What were your favorite classes in high school?

English and History

What was your first job?

Editor of The Weakley County Press, a county newspaper in Middle Tennessee.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Shop, antique, all UT sports, and mostly babysit my twin grandbabies.

What kind of music do you listen to?

Oldies but goodies, a little rap, a little country
