What inspired you to want to work for the service of children?

Originally, I was pre-med with a major in Chemistry. After praying about it, I decided not to go. Later, a door opened up for me to get into the Education program at UTK.

What is your favorite part of working at HHS?

I graduated from here in 1991, so it's kind of neat to work at my old school. There are still some teachers I can't bring myself to call them by their first names.

In high school what kind of stereotype did you fall into?

Good Question - I don't know, just a regular guy.

When you were in high school what career did you want to go into? Was education your first intended major?

See #1 - I was interested in engineering or medicine. Education was a later option. At one point, though, I wated to be a high school history teacher, but they don't make enough money. So here I am teaching Chemistry - making the same amount.

What were your favorite classes in high school?

U.S. History, English, and Science. Singers and Concert Choir were highlights of my senior year.

What was your first job?

I worked at a restaurant in Townsend my folks owned.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Spend time with my wonderful family. I have a wife and 3 children. We attend Ridgeview Baptist Church, just up the road. What time I'm not here, we generally are involved in the Lord's work - that you know, is the most important.

What kind of music do you listen to?

Gospel music - hymns and some Bluegrass Gospel.
