Course Descriptions
Transportation Core- The students begin to learn the basic skills they will use in future repair classes. They begin to learn about leadership skills, the availability of related jobs, and the basic structures of a vehicle. For the safety of the students, they will also be required to learn the correct identification and the proper usage of tools. This class will serve as a foundation to a brighter future.
Non-Structural Analysis- The students will put their basic skills from Transportation Core to use. Non-Structural Analysis could also be considered a foundation class, because the students are still learning basic procedures in restoring and repairing vehicles. Students will also begin priming, MIG welding, and aligning parts.
Structual Analysis- The students will continue to put the basic skills they have accumulated from Transportation Core and Non-Structural Analysis to use. They will also begin to analyze and repair the structural damage to vehicles. In Structural Analysis, students will also learn several types of welding such as: plug welding, stitch welding, continuous welding, and butt welding.
Painting and Refinishing- The students finally get to see all of their hard work pay off. Students will start basic painting and refinishing with the latest technology in paint guns. They also learn about the several different types of paint, as well as how to solve problems with paint. After all the hard work is done, they will learn the proper ways to buff and detail cars. This is when the students receive the most satisfaction for their work.
