Sculptor (Scl)
"The Sculptor"

Location:  R.A. = 30m, Dec. = 30 S

History:  This is another inconspicuous and very dim constellation in the Southern Hemisphere sky.  As with many of the Southern sky constellations, Sculptor (originally given the name Apparatus Sculptoris) was first described by Abbe Nicholas Louis de Lacaille when he mapped the Southern skies between the years 1751 and 1753.  As it is a modern constellation, there is no formal mythology associated with it.
