Middlesettlements School
Title I Services
|
The Title I program is designed to provide assistance for students whose test scores or other needs assessment scores indicate the need for assistance. The Title I program will enable your child to receive more individualized and small group help. As research indicates, the home plays a vital role in any effective educational program, for that reason parents support and participation is vital. Parents of identified Title I students will receive progress reports every nine weeks and will be invited to three special parent meetings during the school year. At these meetings, discussion will focus on the student's progress, placement, and methods that can be used at home to help improve student performance. Parent input into program planning and implementation is strongly encouraged. In addition, several times throughout the school year, students will receive a newsletter packed full of tips and strategies to provide assistance at home. The Title I program at Middlesettlements places part-time teaching assistants in each classroom to provide more small group and individual assistance to identified students. In addition, the assistant helps the teacher to monitor the child's progress and assists in helping communicate progress to parents. The program is not a pull-out program. |
