How can I fit computers into my curriculum and teaching strategies?

Here are a few tried and true suggestions from our colleagues:
Carol Chastain - Rockford (59-2134)
Rotate your subject content utilizing small groups. Therefore you can have one rotation on the computer. Claudia Erwin introduced this concept to me. It's great! It works! (Individual attention-yeah!)
Arlene Fish - Fairview (52-2112)
I assign each student to a computer for most work. I have a checklist I use to see who has and hasn't been. I try to sent them during "down"time" or while working independently.
Donna Russell - Fairview (52-2119)
Accelerated Math is great for both incorporating and managing - yet lots more could be done with this.
Julia Ross - Townsend (58-2116)
Email is a good way to communicate lesson plans to a sub when regular teacher is sick.

Mike Hedrick - Eagleton
Assign day for each child to use computer weekly - Cornerstone, English, Math, Accelerated Reader.

Tina Simmerly - Middlesettlements (53-2112)
Use TrackStar during centers. Use computers for disk-saved journals for projects, reflections, etc.
Sherri Self - Middlesettlements (53-2127)
I use computers in center time.
Jill Fernandez - Montvale (63-2135)
I do morning groups of four different students each day starting at 7:45. That way every student gets at least 30 minutes every week.
Anne Regenbrecht - Montvale (63-2137)
I've been enjoying the Claymation - it works great for many concepts I want to reinforce.
Mary Moody - Porter (50-2133)
Have 4th grades plan & create tracks when finished with work.
David Murrell - Porter (50-2130)
(1) Rotating schedule for computer use; (2) Assign students as "computer experts".

Joy Bivens - Rockford (59-2129)
Five reading groups - rotate every day; four kids get 30-40 minutes of computer time per week.

Kerry Robertson - Rockford (59-2128)
Trackstar - groups of two or three; digital camera images; Weekly Reader Site - individual; manage by using a center;
Judy Wade - Mary Blount (62-2162)
Students sign up (4 per day) on calendar - color/code computers; students assigned to certain computers;
Sandy Parrish - Mary Blount (62-2129)
Get "on-line" lesson plans; contact teachers online for help with challenging students; info on current teaching models;
Jerilyn Myers - Walland (64-2123)
For SS & Science, give students a set of questions, a chart, or table on a topic. Bookmark sites (TrackStar) where they can locate information. Students search & complete assignment.

Let's utilize our best resource - each other!
