1. Observe the same conduct as you use in the classroom.
2. Be Courteous. Use no profane language.
3. Do not eat, drink or chew gum on the bus.
4. Keep the bus clean.
5. Cooperate with the driver.
6. Do not smoke or use any tobacco product.
7. Do not be destructive.
8. Stay in your seat.
9. Keep head, hands, and feet inside the bus.
10. The bus driver is authorized to assign seats.
School Bus Disciplinary Code
Level I Violations Consequences may be:
Eating or drinking on bus after warning
  • Warning by bus driver
Failure to remain seated on the bus after being warned
  • Written reprimand / Parent Contract

Improper boarding/departing procedures after being warned
  • Bus riding suspension (minimum 5 school days for repeat of Level 1 violations)
Refusing to obey the driver
  • Out of school suspension
Loud, rude, or abusive behavior
  • Third violation of Level 1 action to be referred to Disciplinary Hearing Authority
Profane language/obscene gestures
  • The principal or his /her/ designee with investigate and determine which consequence to impose when a violation is reported. Special conditions such as Special Ed, 504 students, and health impaired may require special consideration by the principal.
Any behavior jeopardizing safety or good order on the bus
  • Student and/or parent will be responsible for payment of any damages or destruction of property or lose bus riding privileges.
Level II Violations (Level II violations are those violations that occur after steps to correct Level I violations have been effected or when the behavior is of a more serious nature.) Consequences may be:
Tampering with bus operation or emergency equipment
  • Bus riding suspension (5 school days minimum)
   
Fighting / pushing / tripping
  • Bus riding suspension (minimum 10 school days for repeat occurrence of Level II violations)
   
Bringing articles aboard the bus of injurious or objectionable nature unless approved by driver
  • Out of school suspension
   
Destruction of property
  • Third violation of Level II action to be referred to the Disciplinary Hearing Authority
   
Possession and / or use of tobacco products

Physical assault / verbal threats of a violent nature, as defined in the Tennessee Code Annotated, directed to driver

Attempting to or setting fire to seat, hair, clothing, etc.
  • The principal or his /her/ designee with investigate and determine which consequence to impose when a violation is reported. Special conditions such as Special Ed, 504 students, and health impaired may require special consideration by the principal.
   
Possession and / or use of illegal substances
  • Student and/or parent will be responsible for payment of any damages or destruction of property or lose bus riding privileges.
   
Possession of a weapon  
   
Use of chemical substances with the intent to do harm
