School Resource Officer

Deputy Janice Postel has worked with the Blount County Sheriff's Office for over five years. She is currently assigned as the School Resource officer for Fairview, Eagleton and Mary Blount Elementary Schools. Previously, she worked in the Juvenile Detention Center and briefly in the Adult Detention Center as well.

Deputy Postel had the privilege of being the first (and only) female in the Inaugural Class of the Blount County Sheriff's Office Basic Law Enforcement Academy. She graduated as class Valedictorian on November 16, 2007. She intends to serve her community to the best of her ability and is honored to be a part of the Blount County School System and be welcomed at Fairview Elementary School.

She enjoys boating, motorcycles, hiking, as well as running, fishing and camping in her spare time. She is an artist preferring to draw with charcoals or pastels, and is a very good cook.
