Instruction
(I T I) is the comprehensive educational model used at Fairview
Elementary.
ITI is a strategy which promotes brain-compatible learning for students
in the classroom. This model transforms schools and classrooms
into
dynamic learning environments. A typical classroom is converted
into
lively, dynamic learning communities.
Lifelong Guidelines implemented are Trustworthiness, Truthfulness, Active Listening, No Put-Downs, and Personal Best. The Lifelong Guidelines are based upon respect for others as well as self respect. Character education is taught and practiced using Lifeskills. Lifeskills are standards for behavior. The Lifeskills include Caring, Common Sense, Cooperation, Courage, Curiosity, Effort Flexibility, Friendship, Initiative, Integrity, Organization, Patience, Perseverance, Pride, Problem Solving, Resourcefulness, Responsibility, and Sense of Humor. Lifeskills and Lifelong Guidelines provide a code of decency, propriety, and etiquette for everyone. This is a non-threatening environment which allows the students to excel and develop to their fullest potential. |
