It Could Be This Year!

November 13th starts the U.S. Cellular contest.  All you have to do is go by a branch and vote for your favorite school if you are a subscriber or not.  Last year another county school won 10 grand and other prizes.  So help support Fairview!  Go out and vote!  For more information check out the U.S. Cellular web site.

Junior Achievement
Fairview is perusing Junior Achievement again this year.  This is the economic program taught by community volunteers.  If you would like to volunteer please contact Ann Brackett at 865-368-4383 or annbrackett@gmail.com or contact the teacher to let them know that you would like to teach in their class.  This will be in the third nine weeks.  You can even teach in your child's class!

A Note From Mrs. Dougherty
Hello, Parents!

Our students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades have a wonderful musical opportunity!  On Wednesday, October 28th, we will take those students to see "Musical Super Heroes" at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum, performed by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra!!  The performance begins at 10:45 a.m. and the cost per student will be $8.00.  Any parent, who would like to go, will also need to pay that amount, because there are no free tickets.  We are excited to have this wonderful musical learning experience!

Our Kindergarten and 2nd grades will present a Christmas performance Thursday, December 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in our school gym.  We look forward to working toward this musical goal.

Ms. Dougherty, Musical Specialist

Words from the Library
Thank you to everyone for your support of our Fall Book Fair.  With the money we raised, we will be able to purchase new materials for the Library and new tests for the Accelerated Reader Program.  If anyone has books, videos, etc. that they are no longer using at home, please send them in to school with your child.  I can take those and trade them at the used book store for additional titles for the Library.  Every little bit helps and we are very grateful for all donations.

Thanks!
Ms. Costner

Because We Can!!!
It is time for the annual Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk.  We will be selling wristbands, croc pins, and taking 'hat' day donations.  Each of these will be $1.00.  Students who pay will be able to wear a hat on Friday, October 2nd or Friday, October 16th.  If you wish to be a part of the Fairview team and walk on October 24th at Maryville College, contact Mrs. Blair or Mrs. Guion at Connie.Blair@blountk12.org or Melinda.Guion@blountk12.org.  There will be FREE food, music, and children's activities.

Thank you in advance for your support,
Melinda and Connie
