A Note From
Our Principal We are well into the 2007 - 2008 school year and what a great year so far! Our students are so very special and I am very proud of the progress I see. Continue to read with your child twenty minutes each day and encourage them to complete homework in a timely manner. We want your child to also eat plenty of vegetables and fruits, drink lots of water and limit the sugar in their diet. Remember how important it is to play outside for fresh air, exercise, and Vitamin D from the sunshine. As viruses lurk around our school, let's try to stay healthy and be at school every day on time and well rested. We were notified this week that Fairview Elementary is one of ten schools out of 2000 in the State of Tennessee to be recognized for environmental and recycling efforts! If you follow U.T. football, be sure to look for Fairview to be recognized at the first time out of the South Carolina game on October 27th and presented with a $500 check. Let's continue to be stewards of the Earth and continue to teach our children that the resources of the Earth are not unlimited. Fourth and Fifth grade parents are invited to attend a family dinner at the school on November 1st at 6:00 P.M. Students will decorate, serve and entertain that evening. Make your reservations now by sending in $10.00 for your entire family. Don't miss this special event! Many exciting things are happening at Fairview. Be sure to keep your school calendar handy. With Kids at Heart, Janet Johnson Parents Night Out The Fairview Family Teams next event
will be "Parents Night Out." It will be held on November 9th,
from 7:00 P.M. to midnight. The fee will be $15.00 for the first
child and $10.00 for each additional. You will not have to pre
register your child, just come to the gym that evening. All the
money from this event will go towards to Playground and the Keyboard
Lab. We hope to see your child there!

Fundraiser Update The Tupperware fundraiser is now
over. Even though we do not have a final amount of what we made,
we know that it was very disappointing. Only about a third of all
students participated. However, there is still time to donate
$40.00 to have your child ($35.00 for each additional child) attend the
Mega Party. Keep in mind that this amount is tax
deductible. Since the result will be less than we had hoped for,
we will have to have another fundraiser in the spring. If you
have any ideas, you are welcome to put suggestions in the Fairview
Family Team's box in the office.
