Anyone who purchases food on this day and presents a Fairview coupon will help support our playground
project. A Fairview coupon can be printed by
visiting the following web site at www.easttennesseerewards.com.
Please write the teacher and students name on coupon and the winning
class wins an ice cream party. Using this internet system helps
the restaurant prepare by giving them the number of coupons printed.
Twenty-five percent of the proceeds for dine-in or carryout will
come directly to our school. Thanks to Boomerz and to our family and friends
for supporting our school.
Accelerated
Reader Update
We have just
added over 440 new Accelerated Reader
Quizzes making our list of titles
available to Fairview students near 5,000. The AR list is
available on the Fairview web page.
Principal Points to Ponder
T-Cap time is fast approaching (April
7 - 11 only). We need all students to be here on time. Any
student arriving after the test has started will not be allowed to
enter their classroom. Remember to get plenty of rest and eat a
hearty breakfast.
Hints for test taking:
- Multiple
Choice:
Read all of the answers before marking your answer. Eliminate the
two answers that you know are not correct. your first instinct is
usually correct.
- True or False:
Words like may or often are usually found in true answers. Words
such as never, always, all and none are usually false.
Honey
"B" Breakfast Shake
We
know how important it is to put fuel in our cars and know that it is
equally important to fuel our bodies with nutritious foods.
Breakfast is maybe the most important meal of the day. Kids who
eat breakfast do better at school. With a quick and easy recipe
like this, even the busiest bee can find time to blend honey, milk and
bananas to create a thick, delicious and very nutritious breakfast
shake.
Ingredients:
2 medium bananas, quartered
1 cup low fat milk
2 tablespoons honey
1/8 teaspoons ground nutmeg, optional
Makes 2 servings
"I'm
a Green Kid" Campaign
When
your students bring in a toy and / or a book for Swap Day, March 31,
they will be given a ticket. Student led and Parent Conference
Day is the day that they will be able to use their ticket to trade for
another book and / or toy. Students who bring in a piece of
clothing will receive a check on their "I'm a Green Kid" card which
they will be able to trade in for a button at the end of the
campaign. I hope you will support this effort as we try to
encourage our students to be good stewards of our Earth.
Green Kid Pledge
I Pledge to do my best to improve the environment by
using the 4 R's - reduce, reuse, recycle, retell.
