Programs
-
Our programs
are based on the true middle school concept with a primary goal of
meeting the physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs of young
adolescents.
-
Our staff and
students are divided up into smaller learning communities that we call
"Teams". Each grade level has two teams.
-
We have an
advisor/advisee program where each student has an adult advocate and
mentor who will be to know them well and assist them with school
life/issues.
-
We employ a
nine period flex-block schedule that allows for double blocking,
flexibility and a focus on maximizing time on task.
-
A related
arts program designed to enhance the regular academic curriculum as well
as student exploration and personal growth and development
-
We feature a
rigorous curriculum that is designed to challenge each student
regardless of where they are on the ladder of learning.
-
A focused
curriculum divided into three divisions: Essential skills and
knowledge, Important skills and knowledge, and Enrichment skills and
knowledge
-

Testimonials
"I can remember that first day that I came to
this school; I walked into the gym and couldn’t believe how many kids were
in the gym just waiting for the first day to start. I was so nervous on my
way to my first class, but when I got there, all the butterflies in my
stomach seemed to disappear. The teacher made everything seem not so scary,
and I thought to myself “This isn’t going to be such a bad year after all.”
"My middle school memories that have happened
at CMS are some of the best that I can remember. It has been a blessing and
I am so glad that I have had the honor and privilege to go to such a
wonderful school and have the education that I needed to go on to high
school and for the rest of my life. I will miss Carpenters and always
remember the good times and great people that are here.”
Rachael Wyatt
8th Grade Student
"During
the three years that I have been at CMS, I have made so many
friends. Most of them are students, but some of them are teachers. I
have always loved the teachers here at CMS. They are very personable
and easy to talk to. I can talk with some teachers as though I have
been friends with them my whole life. One great thing about them is
that they create a family environment in their classrooms. Teachers
like Mr. and Mrs. Crowe, Mrs. Barto, Mr. Webb, Mrs. Loria, and Mrs.
Koehl are great examples. They make everyone feel like they are
family."
"This year,
friendships with all my friends have grown stronger. I don’t look forward to
leaving because I probably won’t see half these people again. We will either
be in different classes, or we will be going to different schools. I have
enjoyed being at Carpenters the whole three years I have been here, and will
never forget all the memories I now have to look back on."
Ashley Harper
8th Grade Student
"This year at
Carpenters Middle School I have had many great experiences and memories. I
feel that I have made many personal achievements this year and I have also
gotten to know my teachers better. This year at Carpenters was great an it
won't be easy leaving it behind."
"Carpenters middle school has provided me with many memories
that I won’t forget. Some of those include my friends, teachers, and
classes. My friends I have known since the beginning of sixth and seventh
grades and we all had the same classes this year again. The teachers at
Carpenters are great , especially my English teacher Mrs. Crowe."
"Carpenters middle school has provided
me with many great experiences and memories that I will not forget. I will
miss all of my friends and teachers, and I hope that the upcoming 8th
graders will keep the Carpenters Mile School spirit alive."
Caleb Horn
8th Grade Student
"My three years at Carpenters Middle School has been a
wonderful experience. The teachers are amazing, the sports are great, and
friends I’ve found here are simply outstanding. I have so many memories here
at CMS, and most of them are cheerful. I will be happy to go to high school,
but I will miss Carpenters greatly."
"One
of the best things about Carpenters Middle is the teachers. They are all
here to help, and they really care about what they are doing. In sixth
grade, Mrs. Gaddis always brought humor to the classroom; she was so fun to
be around, and made starting Carpenters easier. Another great teacher that I
met in sixth grade is Mr. Larson, he always has good stories and is so much
fun. I have actually learned many things from his
Computer Tech Class."
"In
seventh grade I met Mr. Crowe, and I don’t see a way that I could forget
him. Mr. Crowe could really make geography fun. Sounds impossible right?
Well, not for Mr. Crowe; he always made us laugh. And Mr. Hall, he has
influenced me so much. He is a wonderful Christian and I’ve always seen him
do the right thing. You can always go to him with a problem, and he will
know how to solve it. Mr. Hall is also very fun."
"This year, in eighth grade, I have probably met the best teacher ever: Mrs.
Crowe. Even though we have so many challenging assignments in her class. But
hey, that’s what made me learn. I have learned things in her class that I
wouldn’t have learned until college."
"Carpenters Middle School is the best middle school around. If I had the
choice, I wouldn’t have gone anywhere else."
